SCHOOLCHILDREN across Pendle will be swimming for free during the summer months after Pendle Leisure Trust decided to make swimming more accessible.
The trust has distributed around 16,000 free swim passes to all primary and secondary schools in the borough as well as to full time students at Nelson & Colne College.
The pass entitles holders to five days of free swimming, one session per week, during the period of Monday, July 8 to Friday, August 9, at either Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne, Pendle Wavelengths in Nelson or West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick.
Katy Mills, marketing manager, said: "We are very pleased to offer the children and students of Pendle free swimming for yet another year. This promotion has proved very popular over the years and continues to ensure our facilities are more accessible to the public."
Swimming is not the only activity going on at Pendle Leisure during the holidays, as Move It 2002 kicks into gear for another year.
It will include activities such as badminton coaching, inflatable fun sessions, canoeing, trampolining, basketball, ten-pin bowling, uni-hoc, football, gymnastics, discos and crash course swimming lessons.
