IRELAND went out of the World Cup on a penalty shoot-out after holding Spain 1-1 and giving an outstanding display.
In a game that saw Ireland awarded two penalties in regular time, Damien Duff led fron the front and caused a great deal of trouble for the Spanish defence.
The game went into extra-time and the two sides couldn't be split and the game went to penalties.
However, Ireland lost 3-2 on penalties and the Spanish now go through to the quarter-finals.
Ireland went behind to a Morientes header after eight minutes and the Irish were struggling to make any headway against a tight, pacy Spanish team.
In the second half of normal time Harte missed a penalty won by Duff, and then in the last minute Quinn had his shirt taken off his back to get a second penalty.
This time Keane stepped up and slammed the ball home.
Duff had a stunning game on both sides of the pitch and casused a great deal of problems for a Spanish defence who didn't know how to handle the Blackburn star.
