INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the murder of pensioner Harry Upton.
The 75-year-old father of two died in Warrington General Hospital on Saturday, June 1 after being stabbed in the head by intruders who broke into his bungalow on a warden-controlled sheltered accommodation complex in Culcheth.
Police were called to the scene at 4.30pm on Thursday, May 30 after Mr Upton managed to alert staff before collapsing and being rushed to hospital with a single stab wound to the head. They found evidence of a burglary and believe he may have been assaulted by intruders.
Warrington police are now following a number of lines of enquiry, including some leads resulting from calls after Mr Upton's family made an emotional appeal for information.
