IT is such a shame that the endeavours of our national football team are used as an excuse by mindless, ill- mannered, morons to behave in a manner that makes me think they have given up their rights of membership to any decent law abiding society.
Alcohol-fuelled clods made their presence felt in Leigh town centre and surrounding areas after the England and Argentina match. Their sole intent seemed to be to cause as much disruption to the rest of our community as they possibly could.
What's the motivation for this?
I'm sure the reason, to the perpetrators in any event, is the 'celebration' of a memorable victory against a specific football team. This gives a spurious excuse to most drunken buffoons to act like idiots and do their best to make someone else's life singularly disagreeable.
Missing something
If this is enjoyable then I must be missing something.
I hope England progress further along the road to World Cup glory as do most other citizens of this land.
However I'm sure they can succeed without the 'support' offered by idiots whose idea of 'fun' is launching beer bottles across the public highway.
Plans are in hand to take these miscreants out of the public arena should the performance be repeated.
They can 'enjoy' their day sleeping-off the effects of alcohol in a police cell and explain their misplaced nationalistic
jingoism to the magistrates.
Celebrate by all means, BUT think of others and what effect YOUR behaviour has on them.
