FANS of the Bard can catch one of his most romantic plays when theatre returns to a Darwen park this summer.
A performance of Shakespeare's classic play As You Like It, described as being the Bard's most romantic comedy, will be performed at the Bold Venture Park on Wednesday, August 14.
Last year's performance had to be abandoned at the interval due to bad weather.
This year's play will be performed by the Illyria Theatre, who will bring with them a new, purpose-built stage designed especially for the company.
The aim is to create an Elizabethan theatre outdoors.
People attending the performance are being urged to 'bring a picnic, bring a bottle and the one you love for an evening of wit, sauce and desire.'
Tickets for the 7.30pm show cost £8 and £5.50 for concessions.
