I WAS grateful that you published both Gladys Robinson's remarks about the Golden Jubilee and David Hamer's comments on musical taste (Letters, June 11) as both were full of common sense.
Also, your colour pictures of animals and birds are really appreciated. The one in that night's issue of the swan family was beautiful. You have good photographers taking these pictures and people love them.
I look forward to my Lancashire Evening Telegraph each night and also have a good laugh at R Coombes' verses in Poet's Corner.
I am grateful to you for your campaign to stop the closure of care homes for old people and wish it to be successful.
A LEADLEY (Mrs), Whitehall, Darwen.
