REGARDING the case of Billy Kelly who was brought to court for painting the cross of St George in the road (LET, June 10), if it had been some sort of road sign such as a zebra crossing or yellow lines, I might just agree with description of 'criminal.'
But what Mr Kelly painted would endanger no one and would soon wash or wear off in any case.
As for 'damage,' from the picture you published, I cannot see that any potholes or displacement of paving stones were caused, so exactly what was this so called damage?
The police are always complaining of being under-staffed and under-paid and so they always will be so long as they spend their time on such trivialities.
