SADDLE up for Bury's annual celebration of two wheels.
A week-long cycle of activities are taking place up in the borough for National Bike Week, which runs until June 23.
Councillor John Smith, Bury Council's Executive Member for Environment and Transport, said: " The Bike Week comes during our fortnight-long Commuter Challenge, where people travelling to and from work are being encouraged to look at alternative forms of transport to the car, such as cycles.
"For those who have thought about giving cycling a go again, then here is the opportunity. All the activities are free, and all you have to do is turn up, and ride off."
The programme of events includes:
Today (Tues June 18), 7pm: A gentle circular ride from Heaton Park Metrolink Station, taking in the Outwood Trail. Ring 0161-763-3450 for more information.
Wednesday (June 19), 7pm: A Ladies-led, but not Ladies only, circular ride, starting at Bury's Castle Leisure Centre. Ring 0161-764-2376 for more information,
Saturday June 22, 10.30am:- A Pedalling Picnic starting from Drinkwater Park car park, Prestwich, exploring National Cycle Route 6 and the south of the borough. Ring 0161-763-3450 for more information.
