DOG owners in Rossendale are being encouraged to clean up after their dogs as part of National Poop Scoop Week.
Rossendale dog warden David East and Councillor Michael McShea joined forces with the National Canine Defence League this week to advice people to use poop scoops to keep their neighbourhood tidy.
They gave out free poop scoops at Stacksteads Recreation Ground yesterday.
David East said: "The National Canine Defence League is encouraging dog owners to clean up after their dog.
"In their leaflets they say there is no excuse for dog fouling and they hope that the awareness campaign will help dog owners realise what a nuisance dog waste can be."
