FURNITURE boss Barney Woodhead has more reason than most to want England to do well on Friday -- he has an order to finish for skipper David Beckham.

The managing director of manufacturers Steve Allen Originals Ltd, of Mayfield Street, Blackburn, has been commissioned by Posh and Becks to make the bedroom furniture for three-year-old son Brooklyn.

Among the items set to adorn both the couple's 'Beckingham Palace' mansion, in Hertfordshire, and the home of Victoria's parents, will be sets of wardrobes, bedroom cabinets and a toy box. But the main piece will be a football-themed bed.

The total value will set the Beckhams back some £10,000, not that the super-rich couple will feel it.

Beckham has recently signed a £100,000 a week contract with Manchester United and should net a bumper pay-out if England go all the way in the World Cup.

And Barney revealed that Posh has given strict orders to have the bed finished and delivered by the time the England captain returns home.

If England fails to beat Brazil in the quarter finals on Friday Beckham and the lads will be on the next flight home.

Blackburn Rovers fan Barney said: "Victoria ordered it the weekend before last and said she wanted it for when David gets back home, which could be Friday.

"We all hope that's not the case, but we will have it ready by then anyway. The finishing touches should be done on Wednesday and we will get it off straight away."

Posh saw the furniture in an exclusive furniture store near to her parent's London home. Steve Allen Originals manufactures furniture for a host of blue-chip companies across the country.

Other clients include the designer Laura Ashley but making furniture for the Beckhams is their most high-profile order yet.

And as well as Brooklyn's bedroom, Barney said the company also had the order to provide the cot for the couple's second child due in two months time.

He said: "Brooklyn is one of the most famous kids in the country and the new baby will be even more famous, especially if David helps England win the World Cup and is perhaps knighted.

"But we haven't been told what sex to make the cot for, she's keeping that secret."

Brooklyn's bed is being customised by five of the company's skilled workforce, and includes his name, a pair of football boots carved into the wood and a 10ins high image of a player.

But instead of being the expected red and white, the bed is being kept a natural wood colour.

Barney said: "Everyone expected it to be red and white, and we offered to colour it for them.

"But they wanted to keep it natural... perhaps he's thinking of changing clubs!"
