NICK UTTLEY, the top qualifier for the quarter finals of the Harold Ryden Trophy, won his last eight clash against Rossendale member and Lancashire player Ashley Siddle at Blackburn golf club last night.
The 35-year-old former Lancashire player, who qualified five shots ahead of the field in Saturday's qualifiers, beat Siddle by two holes with one to play.
In the other quarter final clashes, Blackburn's Chris Smith beat Lobden's Chris Chrimes three and two and Anthony Harwood, also of Blackburn, beat Wilpshire's Tony Holt two up.
Blackburn 17-year-old James Pierce beat American university scholar Ben Scott, of Burnley, two and one.
In tonight's semi finals, teeing off at 5.30pm and 5.40pm, Uttley will play Smith and Harwood will play club mate Pierce.
