TALENTED trumpeter Sam Parkinson heralded the start of East Lancashire Arts Talent Enrichment Day at Burnley's Towneley High School.
The seven-year-old from Heasandford Primary School was among more than 260 youngsters from 16 schools across the county who took part the the event.
Students also worked in art workshops at the ELATED initiative which included a range of arts, music and craft workshops.
They were joined by the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley, Coun Gordon and Kathleen Birtwistle, and MP Peter Pike.
