PUPILS at an East Lancashire school are going green in a bid to raise awareness about waste.
Children from St Mary's RC Primary School in Oswaldtwistle are staging a Green Day on Wednesday June 26 and hope that residents will join them in learning how to preserve their environment.
During the day, youngsters will dress in green clothes while preparing for a presentation evening to be attended by representatives from Friends of The Earth, Oswaldtwistle Area Council, and the Prospects Panel.
In preparation the children will make use of the three Rs -- reduce, reuse and recycle -- by baking buns for the event to reduce waste through packaging, making models by reusing junk and making mini composters to recycle.
They will also design masks and posters to promote the event and these will be on display in the evening in the school hall in Mayfield Avenue.gin from 7pm.
