BUDDING young fashion designers are being asked to step forward and take part in a unique competition later this year.
As part of Mela 2002, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18th-20th October the 'RCKC Young Designer of the Year Competition' will give designers the opportunity to create an outfit incorporating Hollywood with Bollywood.
The lucky individual will win a first prize of a two-week placement with leading India-based fashion designer, Anamika Khanna. The winner will then play a role in creating Anamika's next collection as well learning all about the eastern techniques from design and cutting through to classic hand embroidery.
Anamika said, "I am delighted to be judging such a competition and looking forward to working with the winner in India."
The grand final of the competition will take place on Saturday 19th October on the Fashion Catwalk at Mela 2002. All finalists entries will be shown throughout the three day event.
