STUDENTS and pupils of Blackburn College braved the rain to join together and hold hands to promote a multi-cultural society.
The inspiration behind the human circle, which took place yesterday morning, was college learning support worker Adil Babar.
Adil said, "I thought it would be a good idea for all staff and students at the college to hold hands to promote the fact that we are united and can live in a multi-cultural society."
Adil has been involved in many projects at the college such as Racism and unity, HIV and Aids, Asian Young men and Masculinity. He is currently working on two projects, the first of which is a documentary with BBC TV about four lads from Tipton, who were allegedly involved with the Taliban.
Principal Sheena Ewing added, "It was a celebration of achievement and cultural harmony and we were pleased at the wonderful turnout despite the pouring rain."
