THE boss of a bus company which allegedly dumped a teenage Leigh student miles from home has apologised to the family and promised a full investigation into the incident.
Last week Kim Jenkins, 18, of Manchester Road, Leigh, told how she and three other passengers were ordered off a First Manchester bus from Manchester city centre at Atherton's Punch Bowl around midnight on Saturday, June 1, despite having been told that it was bound for Leigh,
Derek Draper, local operations director for First's bus services in the West of Greater Manchester said: "Our service manager has already contacted the Jenkins family to get full details of this event and an internal investigation will be completed.
"It appears there has been a misunderstanding and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused as a consequence."
