TYLDESLEY Fred Longworth High School has received a first class report from government inspectors.
A delighted head teacher Tony Colley was this week delighted to share the Ofsted praise with parents, governors, teachers and students.
He said: "I am very proud of our achievements and more than pleased that Ofsted has recognised us with the accolade of a "very good school" - few schools (less than 10 per cent) achieve this rating."
The document praises all aspects of school life, including its outstanding provision of after school activities, and notes the excellent improvement in the boys' performance since the last inspection.
