BURY'S 'Woman of the Year' Marie Caldwell will be going the extra mile or ten for Bury Hospice over Saturday and Sunday, July 6/7.
That's when she competes in the British 24-Hour Track Championships at the Costello Athletic Stadium in Hull.
Marie, who will be raising money in sponsorship for the Hospice, hopes to cover at least 65 miles to help celebrate her 65th birthday a few weeks later.
Two years ago Marie set the British record for women over the age of 60 when she ran almost 92 miles in a 24-hour event.
She has been training very hard for her latest challenge, covering in the region of 80 miles a week.
Towards the end of July, Marie will be taking part in what she describes as the shortest - but most important - sporting event in her life when she carries the Jubilee Baton in the Commonwealth Games Relay.
