SWINTON Lions coach Phil Veivers has a long list of injury victims hampering his selection process for tonight's game against lowly Hunslet Hawks at Leigh's Hilton Park ground (kick-off 8pm).
Among them is second row forward Dave Ellison, who escaped with bruises, but was badly shaken after being involved in a car accident while travelling home from training on Wednesday night.
A car ran a red light in Lowton, near Leigh and clipped Ellison's vehicle.
"It sounds like he had a lucky escape. We will just have to wait and see how he is," said Veivers.
The Lions are also likely to be without loose forward Peter Cannon, who has a hamstring problem following last week's 34-16 defeat at Batley.
Dale Holdstock, Rob Gallagher and Andy Leatham are also doubtful, whilst Veivers will run a late fitness check on hooker Rob Barraclough before kick-off tonight.
Hunslet provide the Lions with a big test, despite their lowly position. Defeat by them would be a terrible indictment of the Lions' current state of affairs on the field and Veivers says: "I don't know much about Hunslet, I'll be sitting down watching a video, but I do know they are next to bottom of the table and they will be desperate for a win, just like we will be."
