LOOK OUT! The Lavender Hill Mob are about to hit Blackpool Grand Theatre.
Probably the most famous of all Ealing comedies, The Lavender Hill Mob is the tale of a humble bank clerk whose life is transformed when he masterminds the gold bullion heist of the century.
Clive Francis stars as Henry Holland, the long-suffering bullion transporter who decides to reward himself after 20 years of faithful service.
He enlists his old friend Pendlebury, the sculptor, played by Victor Spinetti, who hits upon the idea of melting the gold down and turning them into souvenir Eiffel Towers which are then shipped to Paris.
Just when the mob think it's plain sailing six of the miniature statues are sold to a group of English schoolgirls and the chaos begins.
Also starring Jack Wild (Oliver's Artful Dodger) and Michael Melia (EastEnders), The Lavender Hill Mob runs at Blackpool Grand Theatre from June 24-29 with evening and matinee performances. Call the box office on 290190 for more details and tickets from £8.
