RADCLIFFE Scouts have taken part in the largest ever survey of the movement in its 95-year history.
The consultation was carried out by the Scout Association to find out what sort of activities young members want in the 21st century.
A total of 50,000 young people and adults responded and the result is a bright, fresh new programme of activities that will continue to attract and excite young people.
One of the key developments is new age ranges and the introduction of two new "sections."
Radcliffe Scouts are already busy introducing the changes that will see five age groups: Beaver Scouts 6 to 8-years-old, Cub Scouts 8 to 10-years-old, Scouts 10 to 14-years-old, and the two new categories Explorer Scouts 14 to 18-years-old and the Scout Network 18 to 25-years -old.
The young people in each age group will have the opportunity to take part in a balanced programme of activities, designed to develop themselves and enable them to learn new skills and pursuits.
June Ascroft, District Commissioner for Radcliffe Scouts said: "This change has been the best thing in Scouting for more than 30 years, and I am totally behind it. Scouting will be much more enjoyable for all age groups, more relevant and easily accessible for young people in the 21st century."
