COLNE based Physique, which provides new and remanufactured fitness equipment, has invested more than £1 million in major new head offices on its site.

A contract for the new 70,000 sq ft development, beside the company's premises in Colne, was signed at the beginning of this month.

The company's health and fitness club, product showroom and administration offices will be the first to be established in the new buildings, formerly a mill retail unit, once infrastructure work has been completed.

The premises will be upgraded and used for expanded remanufacturing processes such as dismantling, shot-blasting, electronics repair, spare parts storage, upholstery manufacture, painting and reassembly.

About ten new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion and the company believes there will be more created as demand for its products and services continues to improve.

Physique is also hoping to be granted permission by Pendle Council for a non-retail unit on site which, if given the go-ahead, could create a further 20 jobs.

Barry Cronin, a director of the company, said: "The new and modern facilities will provide us with the extra capacity we need to maintain growth in the business for the foreseeable future.

"In addition, our clients will benefit from a greater range of products and an improved range of services.

"Its the next step forward for Physique."
