THE patriotic fervour, much of it stage-managed, for the Queen's Golden Jubilee was hardly repeated in the more remote parts of this country.
Its amazing how few Union Jacks were displayed on houses or in streets, unlike in America where the Stars and Stripes are evident in all walks of life.
The Union Jack only appears on special occasions yet I believe it should be displayed every day and, in this land of the free, we should be proud of it.
