I AM a volunteer with Meals on Wheels but I also have to work bank holidays as part of my full-time employment. Therefore does "Service Seeking Ratepayer" (Yours Truly, June 13) suggest I take a day off work to deliver meals to her mother?
To put the record straight, the reason meals are not delivered on bank holidays is because normally the kitchens, which are the responsibility of social services, do not open, so meals are not available.
I therefore suggest that she contact social services and take up the matter with them.
MARY WELDING,
WRVS volunteer.
