I READ Mrs Bridie Sutton's remarks on Lancashire's red rose symbol with interest and would point out that the county council say the new logo will show who is doing things in the county.
Things like closing residential homes for the aged, closing children's homes and leaving roads in disrepair.
As this is the emblem of a "New Labour" council we would not want to confuse them with the Labour party that has grass roots socialism.
I see now they are going to speak to the children of Lancashire County Council homes just the same as they they spoke to residents of the homes for the aged, many of whom suffer from age-related confusion.
But maybe that is the level that the county council is at.
Burnley's mayor, Councillor Gordon Birtwistle and I delivered thousands of signatures to County Councillor Chris Cheetham recently and left with the same impression as at the very first meeting -- that the decision is already made.
So Coun Cheetham, Coun Hazel Harding and friends, when it comes round to election time we will be able to identify you by your brand new "expensive" logo.
