AN East Lancashire charity is on the lookout for volunteers who can act as advocates for people who need help dealing with major services.
East Lancs Advocacy wants good communicators who understand that many people find it difficult to speak up when dealing with authorities and believe that everybody has a right to be heard.
The charity gives volunteers full and ongoing training. Volunteers are involved in many areas of advocacy, from supporting vulnerable adults and helping service user groups, to assisting in Resource Rooms in local hospitals.
The next two-day training course is on July 23 and 24 in Accrington and further courses are planned throughout the year. Travel expenses will be paid by the charity.
If you are interested in helping others to speak up, you can contact Michael on 01254 301030, or e-mail michael@elas.org or you could visit the East Lancs Advocacy web site at www.elas.org.uk
