HIGH school pupil Keiley Radcliffe has given her schoolmates something to talk about by buying them dictaphones.

Keiley, 16, goes to Rhyddings High School in Oswaldtwistle, and was awarded £100 after being nominated for the Accrington Lions Youth Award.

She is partially sighted and told the Lions that if she won the money, dictaphones would help her to take down notes and revise for her GCSEs, instead of having to write information down.

Head of student support at Rhyddings Stephanie Brewerton said: "Keiley has put a huge amount into the school.

"She has been a peer counsellor to younger pupils and was part of the Rock Challenge, despite being visually impaired. She will go to the Hereford and Worcester College for the Blind after school, to study for a B-Tec in Performing Arts."

Keiley, of Richmond Avenue, Accrington, was spotted by Lions president Terry Barber in the newspaper, as she has previously been nominated for the Children of Achievement Awards.

The school bought five dictaphones with tapes, batteries and chargers, which will help partially sighted children complete their schoolwork.
