TOCKHOLES Village Gala is back after foot and mouth stopped the event for the first time in three decades last year.
The event, which takes place around the village, is being staged on July 6 and organisers hope to make it one of the best.
Last year, the committee decided to respect local farmers and cancel the annual event to prevent the spread of the disease.
Norman Bell, of the committee, said: "We hope it will be one of our best. The gala provides funds necessary for special events for the children and elderly of the community. It is seen as village heritage and has been held for many years."
He also appealed for any companies, organisations or individuals to support the gala by donating gifts or volunteering. Anyone who can help should call 01254 702 999.
