REGARDING the old folk's care homes saga, it may seem a silly question, but has anyone actually costed how much it would be to provide individual care for the elderly in their own homes?
Most of them have been 'robbed' of their savings. So how are they going to afford, or who is going to pay for care in the community with all it entails?
Surely, it must cost a lot more than their measly pensions or the cost of upgrading council care homes.
If care-at-home becomes the policy, I hope that several months down the line we are not going to see elderly people lined up on trolleys and spilling out of accident and energency departments at the hospitals.
