I CANNOT credit all the complaints about the French market that is to be held in Blackburn. For goodness sake, it is only a one-off event.
Why do the traders of Blackburn feel this three-day event will have so detrimental an effect on their businesses? Are their businesses in such dire straits?
I seldom come into Blackburn, but I will for this French market.
I do not come into Blackburn because there is little choice. Parking on the multi storey car park on a Saturday is a nightmare and the ring road...need I say more?
For me, Blackburn lacks a decent bookshop that any reasonable sized town should have, never mind a would-be city.
If traders of Blackburn want to get something right, then they should say 'Bonjour' to this French market, instead of giving it the two-fingered gesture that originated at Agincourt.
