MOZART'S masterpiece The Magic Flute will be performed by girls from Westholme School this weekend.
The production was written for male singers and features some famously difficult arias.
Adaptations to the pitch of some songs have been made so that the girls, all under 19, can sing the parts tailored for lower voices.
Eric Millest, the Director of Music at Westholme, said: "I have been impressed by the way our students have been able to sing music usually reserved for the world's best sopranos, altos, tenors and basses!
"This was intended to broaden the experiences of our singers and instrumental players, and it has been pleasing to hear the girls talk of how much they are enjoying Mozart's music."
The show will run tomorrow and on Saturday night, and tickets are available from the Box Office on 01254 506070, or at the door.
