REGARDING your report (LET, June 15) on the new look of Church Street in Blackburn with its pyramids, the chance of providing the town with a tourist attraction has been wasted.
Why on earth have we no statues of famous Blackburn servants: Jack Walker, Barbara Castle, Bryan Douglas or Ronnie Clayton? A poll among the Blackburn and Darwen people would have given a much better street -- of Blackburn 'stars.' As always, we weren't asked. We got the cheapest option -- a load of rubbish, more of which, I am sure, will be dumped on Church Street every Saturday night.
