YOUNG people in Burnley have been helping to improve their environment and make their neighbourhood more attractive during a tree planting session.
The Forest of Burnley, Groundwork East Lancashire and Youth on Unity joined forces in Daneshouse and Stoneyholme to plant trees on the clearance site at the corner of Hurtley Street and Ardwick Street.
The Forest of Burnley are planting trees on several clearance sites.
Groundwork East Lancashire also invited local children from Youth on Unity to get involved with wildflower planting.
Lisa Yates, of Groundwork East Lancashire, said: "The Youth on Unity are a group of young Asian males from the Daneshouse and Stoneyholme area who have got together to set up their own self help voluntary group through which they aim to improve their neighbourhood."
