AN inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a Rossendale man who lost his life aged 55.
John James McGuire of Newchurch Road, Stacksteads, died at his home on June 22.
The hearing, at Burnley Magistrates' Court, was told Mr McGuire had been diagnosed as suffering from cancer in February and his condition had deteriorated since then.
Coroner's Officer Bob Wilson said a post mortem had been carried out and the results of histology tests were being awaited. Other enquiries were also being carried out.
