LEIGH RMI boss Steve Waywell is prepared to bide his time before further strengthening his squad.
Waywell currently has 14 players signed up for next season and still has gaps to fill.
But he's happy with the current situation and is keeping some powder dry for the start of pre-season and the anticipated scramble for contracts.
Waywell said: "I've got a little bit of leeway to bring in another four and I'll wait for them now. I'll wait and see what happens. I'll have a few players on trial and there will be players on the phone when they're no longer being paid by their clubs. There's no point in rushing in now."
Around 700 professional players are out of contract this summer and while some have offers on the table, there will be plenty whose wages run out at the end of July who will be looking to get fixed up before the start of the new campaign.
Waywell believes he will be able to pick up some quality players for reasonable wages to go with the nucleus of the squad he has already put together.
"I'm happy with what I've got. We will be stronger than last season," he added.
Stalybridge Celtic have signed RMI striker Marcus Hallows. He started for RMI in 22 matches last season and appeared as a sub on a further 22 occasions. In these games he scored nine goals.
Club physio, Dave Pover, has left RMI to return to Stalybridge. Celtic offered him a position in the Clubs Sports and Fitness Centre.
The away match at Chester, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 7 has been rescheduled to Friday, September 6, kick off 7:45pm.
