The high levels of Kirklees Brook behind the Island Lodge washed away the bridleway footpath between Tower Farm and Carcass Lodge, exposing Industrial pipework and displacing flagstones with the power of floodwater.

BURY & DISTRICT
SEA ANGLERS
ON Saturday nine members of the club travelled to Rhyl to fish aboard a new boat Sea Gem ll, a catamaran, and despite rough conditions, the party was most impressed by the stability of the vessel.
Due to force 5 to 6 winds, the party chose to fish Llandudno Bay in the shelter of the Great Orme. The party accounted for loads of dabs, dogfish, gunnard, a few whiting, a couple of plaice, small coldling and small mackerel, in previous days the mackerel had been larger specimens.
On returning to port after a ten hour trip, winds increased to force seven, but the boat remained stable, radio contact with other boats reported anglers seasick in the rough conditions.
The next club trip takes place on Saturday, August 3 from Port Dinorwic to fish aboard "Morgan James" for a twelve hour wrecking trip.
