PUNK legends The Damned are heading to Blackpool this August Bank Holiday Weekend.
AS part of the annual "Holidays In The Sun" festival in the resort, the gruesome group will appear for one night only at the Spanish Hall in the Winter Gardens on August 26.
The Damned are still showing they are a relevant force in today's music scene 25 years after their debut album Damned, Damned, Damned was released.
Cited as a major influence by many of today's nu-metal bands. The Damned are now signed to Nitro Records -- the label owned by Dexter Holland, frontman with US band The Offspring.
The current line-up of Dave Vanian (vocals), Captain Sensible (guitar), Patricia Morrison (ex Sisters of Mercy) (bass), Pinch (drums) and Oxy Moron (keyboards), will be performing a set spanning their entire career including classics such as New Rose, Neat Neat Neat, Smash It Up and of course the 1986 No 3 smash hit Eloise.
Julian Murray of Blackpool-based promoters Infinite Events Ltd said: "What better way to end the summer bank holiday weekend than a big party with The Damned.
"Their live show is still as fresh and entertaining as ever and they are true professionals who can certainly play."
Support on the night comes from highly acclaimed Swedish rockers The Diamond Dogs who describe themselves as The Black Crowes meets The Rolling Stones.
Tickets at £14 are available now from Millenium Concert Travel on (01253) 299266 and Blackpool Live on (01253) 292029 or you can book online at www.tickets-online.co.uk
