A new colour magazine will be dropping through the letterbox of each and every home in the district over the next few weeks, courtesy of Lancaster City Council.
Your District Council MATTERS, the city council's new community magazine, is full of facts and information to help you get the most out of your council and the services it provides.
It includes a handy four-page pull-out listing all the council's top events and attractions, a mini A-Z of council services to help you make contact, a break down of how your money is spent, news of up to 1,000 new jobs, information on how and where to recycle your rubbish, advice on how to place a planning application, a full photographic guide to all your councillors and a simple guide to how council decisions are taken.
Your District Council MATTERS has been produced in response to public requests for more information about issues important to them.
A survey carried out with 1,000 residents earlier this year showed that local people want more clear and practical information about council services.
A spokesman said: "Through this new magazine we are aiming to do just that."
