POLICE are concerned for the safety of a 14-year-old girl who has been missing from home for a week.
Leona McCarthy, of The Crescent, Colne, was last seen as she left home to go to school at 8am on Thursday, June 20.
Leona is described as 5'3" tall, of slim build and brown eyes, with long straight brown hair and was last seen wearing black trousers, a black blazer and a white blouse.
Police said the Fisher More RC High pupil has previously gone missing and was then traced to the Rossendale Valley but she is also known to have friends and contacts in the Pendle area.
Inspector Dave Croll, of Colne Police, said: "Since last week the parents of Leona have not had any contact with her.
"We are concerned about her and would like anybody who knows of her whereabouts or Leona herself to contact the police to ensure that she is safe and well."
Anyone with any information should contact Inspector Croll on 01282 425001.
