EAST Lancashire MP Nigel Evans has been visiting the Isle of Man to look at he future of mobile phones.

The Ribble Valley Tory wanted to view and hear first hand the next generation of all singing all dancing handsets in the only area of the British Isles where 3G is being trialled.

Mr Evans said: "This was an exciting visit as the British have clearly embraced mobile communications.

"The future for mobile telephony means that people will soon be able to receive and send videos and new applications will assist the police with the detection of criminals.

"Businesses will benefit from a reduction in business travel as more and more people will use video conferencing."
