THERE will be plenty of reminders of England's World Cup summer at Christie Park this season.

The Shrimps this week unveiled their new hi-tech home and away shirts and avid watchers of Beckham and co may recognise the new home shirt from Umbro, which is based on the England away top which was voted the best in Japan and South Korea.

The shirt uses a 'Vapa Tech' moisture management control system, which transports vapour away from the body to the outer fabric, enabling it to dry quickly, allowing the body to stay comfortable.

The 'anatomical silhouette' of the shirt gives extra space between the arm for freedom of movement and a 'pinhole mesh' system allowing the body to breath.

The away shirt, with a yellow and navy design, draws its inspiration from the colours of the club' s badge.

And keeper Craig Mawson will be able to look like David Seaman without growing a ponytail, thanks to a new goalkeeper jersey based on the England blue shirt which designers claim 'aids performance and look'.

The shirts are due to go on sale next month, with other Umbro leisurewear also available from the club shop shortly.

The new shirts also introduce new sponsors Thurnham Leisure.

The operators of the Thurnham Hall timeshare complex have agreed a 'substantial' deal to back the Shrimps for the next two years, the biggest agreement the club has ever signed.

With more than 400 employees in the local area, the company is keen to back and managing director, Fred Fogg, says he wants to help the club challenge for a place in the football league.

Welcoming the deal, club chairman Peter McGuigan said: "This is the first time we have signed a two year shirt sponsorship, which is quite a step forward for us it gives us continuity."
