SUNSHINE smiled on Lytham Club Day revellers on Saturday as the town's favourite family event went ahead despite the worries for its future.
Although there had been wet weather warnings, thousands of spectators lined the procession route to watch floats go by from schools and churches along with classic cars, marching bands and morris dancers.
This year's Rose Queen was Delyth Williams from Arnold School representing St John's Church who was crowned in the afternoon at Lowther Pavilion.
Many revellers then moved to Lytham's Station Square in the evening to enjoy a steel band, folk music and barn dancing.
Next year's club day could be threatened by the cost of new safety regulations which will require marshals and barriers.
