YOUNG actor Samuel Aston is following in his sister and brothers' footsteps after earning a part in the ITVs drama series The Bill.

Samuel, nine, of Bankside Close, Bacup, will play the part of a police constable's relative Ryan Best and will appear in at least five of the show's programmes to be screened later this year.

The pupil at Thorn Primary School in Bacup is also soon to star in a TV advert for Dairylea cheese spread.

His sister Emily, now 20 and living in London, was picked when she was just seven to star in the controversial TV drama Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit filmed in Accrington and Rossendale.

Emily has just completed touring with the comedy play Rita, Sue and Bob Too when she took the title role of Rita and is going on to star in A State Affair.

Samuel's brother Joseph, 11, plays Oscar in Where the Heart Is and his other other brother Thomas, 15, has been in Peak Practice. Their sister Elizabeth, 17, is also on the agency's books.
