WHEN I first read the press release from Wyre Borough Council headed "Council streamlining services to provide better value for money", I thought good -- long overdue. But, after reading fully, what it is really saying is CUTS, CUTS, CUTS.
Why, after a huge 10% council tax hike in April, are we facing more cuts in service now? Did the Tories dramatically under-estimate what finance they required or did they think people would not notice 10% rise in April and then cuts now?
The Tories have been in power now for three years and look at the state of the Council's finances and services. I hope the voters remember this next May at the Wyre Borough Council's elections.
Councillor Keith Riley,
Leader,
Wyre Labour Group.
