WOULD-BE stars of the future took to the stage in Nelson town centre to perform in a talent show.
It was the fifth time the Starquest Talent Competition has been held on a stage in the Place de Creil.
Organiser Isobel Davies said: "The winner of the under 16 competition was singer Fiona Arthurs, 13, of Nelson who won £200, and the over-16 winner was singer Andy Gardner from Colne, who won £500
"They both now have the title of Nelson Starquest 2002 winners."
There were 26 entries in the under 16s competition and 11 in the over 16s.
