BURNLEY striker Robbie Blake is raring to go for the new season after making an early return to training following summer surgery.
The 26-year-old had a hernia operation at the end of last season and said: "I'm just looking to get some extra training in before pre-season.
"It was causing problems last season and now that the operation is out of the way, I can get fit and hope for a good season.
"To be honest, I'm not a big fan of pre-season training, but it has to be done. It's a matter of preparing for the season and we need to be fit for it."
Blake made only one appearance after his £1million move from first division rivals Bradford City last season.
The striker moved in January but his stomach muscle injury ensured that his was mainly limited to coming on from the bench and he failed to score in his one start and nine substitute appearances.
But he is eager to get on the goal trail next term.
"Because I've just had the operation, I'm back now to get ready for the start of training," added Blake.
"It's important to get a good start to the season and with a full pre-season under our belt, we should be more than ready."
