PUPILS are being urged to skip at school to raise money for a national cause and their own coffers.
Darwen schools can get involved in the British Heart Foundation fitness and fund-raising event at Darwen Leisure Centre.
Several primary and secondary schools from the town have already signed up to take part in the event later this month.
Most money raised will go to the BHF, but schools get to keep 25 per cent.
Sally Jones, a school sports co-ordinator employed by Blackburn with Darwen Council, is organising the event through her contacts.
"We hope to raise a substantial amount of cash," she said.
"All the primary schools can send a team and the skipping will be done over a two-hour block."
Anyone wanting more information should call the leisure centre on 01254 771511.
