FIRE crews from Haslingden and Rawtenstall were called to a head-on crash between a pickup van and a car on the Grane Road yesterday which left one driver trapped.
The accident, near the Grey Mare Pub at 9.08am, resulted in the road being closed for 30 minutes before police opened one carriageway.
Firefighters were there for 90 minutes while the male driver was freed from a Vauxhall Vectra, but the vehicle did not have to be cut open.He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
The second driver, in a 4X4 pickup, refused hospital treatment.
The air ambulance was called to the scene but not required.
