IS it not only laughable, but pitiable to read the letters in support of the cockeyed idea by Blackburn with Darwen Council to import a French market?
Blackburn probably already has one of the most varied selections of foods and produce from around the world than anywhere in the country.
Why do we need a French market when traders may have been selling French meat products, made in a country with a rising rate of BSE outbreaks, yet refuses to allow imports of British beef, which are now the safest in the world, into their markets?
