ON Sunday June 30 the gardens at Dyneley were open to the public, between noon and 5pm, for an admission fee of £3. Teas were also on sale.
All proceeds from the day are to support the National Gardens Scheme, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
MOUNT Zion Church holds regular Family Worship on Sundays between 10.45 and 11.45am. Everyone welcome.
Make a road race date
THE 24th annual Cliviger 6 Road Race will be held this year on Sunday August 11, starting at 11.30am.
As usual, the race will start and finish at Mount Lane sportsfield with presentation of prizes at the Gordon Lennox. Closing date for postal entries is Monday 5 August. Inquiries can be made on 01706 812284 between 9am and 5pm. Entry is £3 for those affiliated to a club and £4 for unaffiliated or entry on the day.
THE Jumble Sale held on June 25 raised approximately £60 for Village Hall funds.
ON Sunday evening a special welcome service was held at St John's Church for the curate, Rev. Jim Holt, who was ordained at Blackburn Cathedral on Saturday.
Parish Eucharist services are held every Sunday at 9.30am, the second Sunday in each month is Family Service.
FORTHCOMING events planned by Cliviger Recreation and Community Association include a Mag 6 Walk around the parish, visiting the local pubs, a litter-pick and bulb planting and a Jubilee celebration.
Further details of these events will be available in the near future.
THE next monthly meeting of Cliviger Parish Council will be held on Friday July 5 at 7pm in the Village Hall.
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
